Mrs Maria Harty
Chair of Governors
Maria became a Governor at St Edward’s School in 2015 and Chair of Governors in September 2016.
She has 5 children who have all attended St Edward’s School.
Maria’s background is in Health Education, and she is currently working in a Care Home in the dementia unit, writing and monitoring the implementation of resident’s Care Plans.
Maria is a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bedgrove.

Mrs Elizabeth Berkeley
Foundation Governor & Vice Chair of Governors
Liz was born and raised in the North of England and moved to London at 18 to study at Westminster Hotel School. On graduation, she joined Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts and began a 30 year career within the international hospitality industry, predominantly in recruitment. Since 2013, Liz has run her own executive search business.
In 2008, Liz was signed up a mentor for hospitality undergraduates at Oxford Brookes University and presents regularly to students there. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and sits on a variety of Boards for The Springboard Charity which promotes careers in hospitality.
Liz and her husband Grant moved to Aylesbury in 1998 and their two daughters attended St Edward’s School.
Liz is a parishioner of St Joseph’s and St Clare’s Catholic Churches, Aylesbury.

Mrs Pat Fuchter
Pat is a newly appointed governor to St Edwards and joined us in October 2016.
Pat recently retired after 36 years in the Civil Service. As a senior leader, she has many years’ experience of managing people performance, projects and programmes, and change management. She has also mentored a number of individuals for career development and coached others through problem solving.
Pat grew up, lived, and worked in central London before moving to Aylesbury with her husband 15 years ago where his boys attended the grammar school. Although Pat does not have any previous links with St Edward's she is committed to the ethos of Catholic education.
Pat is a parishioner of St Joseph Catholic Church, Aylesbury.
Mr Paul Sherley
Paul became a Foundation Governor of St Edward’s School in November 2016.
Born in Aylesbury, Paul attended local schools where he met his wife Louise and they have lived in the area ever since. They have two children, both of whom were pupils at St Edward’s.
He is a qualified accountant, and has worked in various finance roles over the last 25 years currently based at a utilities company in Windsor. Outside of work, he keeps busy with the family and is an enthusiastic but very slow long distance runner.
Paul is a parishioner of St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Aylesbury.
Mr James Sisk
James was born in County Antrim in Ireland and moved to Buckinghamshire in the late 90’s to pursue a nursing career. James became a Clinical Nurse Specialist moving to the world of education in 2008 where he is now a Head of Campus working at Chiltern Way Academy – Prestwood site.
Whilst living in Buckinghamshire he met and married Helen and now has two children.
In his spare time, James is a Westcott parish councillor, helps out at his son’s football team coaching and fondly remembers the days when he used to be able to run around the Gaelic football pitch and more recently the rugby pitch, he will be the first to admit that he now participates as a spectator only, watching from the side lines.
James is a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes in Long Crendon.
Mr Martin Gibson
Martin was born in County Kerry in Ireland and moved to Aylesbury in the mid 1970’s. Here he married Angela and their 3 children attended St Edward’s School. Martin worked initially as a Computer Programmer, then a System Analyst and since 1992; he has been a Data Protection Officer working in information governance. From 2004 to 2008, Martin was Secretary to the National Association of Data Protection Officers and has written articles and delivered presentations nationally on behalf of the association, latterly on the subject of data protection in the Cloud.
In his spare time, Martin has been an American Football referee since 1986 and has refereed in the British Leagues and also at international level.
Martin is a parishioner of St Joseph’s and St Clare’s Catholic Church, Aylesbury.

Mrs Trish Breen
Trish has been a Parent Governor since May 2015 and as an ex-pupil of St Edward’s she holds a strong allegiance to the school.
Trish is a mother of two children who both attend St Edward’s School. Trish works as a Human Resources Manager and over the past fifteen years within this profession, believes she can utilise these skills along with her experience to support staff with current practices and new initiatives.
Trish is a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bedgrove.
In any spare time, Trish enjoys nothing more than spending time with her immediate and extended family.

Mrs Elaine Sidhu
Elaine was appointed as a new Foundation Governor in July 2017.
Elaine moved to Aylesbury in 2001 and is married to Kish. They have two children who presently attend St Edwards School.
Elaine trained as a nurse in London and is now a divisional manager at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust where she manages the division of medicine.
Elaine attends St Clare’s church where she is also chair of the new youth pillar across the Aylesbury parishes. Her two children are also altar servers. Elaine helps to coach the under 8 age group at Aylesbury hockey club.
Mr R Stokes
Mr R Stokes has been a teacher governor at St Edward's for four years. He moved into teaching after working as an electrical and electronic engineer. His 12 years of teaching have all been at St Edward's, a school he really enjoys teaching at.
Mr Stokes has lived in and around Aylesbury most of his life and is married with one daughter. He is a parishioner of Aylesbury Methodist Church.
Sr. Bernadette is part of the Religious Order within the Congregation of the Daughters of Providence.
Sr. Bernadette works in the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, Aylesbury and has been based there for over 20 years. Sr Bernadette regularly visits the school to listen to children read.
